The information and tools provided on SimpleCounter.co are for general informational and educational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the information and tools.

That paragraph is standard wording, so the rest of this page explains what it means in practice: what our tools genuinely do well, where their answers stop being trustworthy, and which decisions you should not make on the basis of a number this website produced.

What Our Tools Are Good At

The counters do arithmetic you would otherwise do in your head, and they do it reliably. A tap counter records taps, a rep counter records reps, a stitch counter records rows. There is very little that can be wrong about a number that only goes up by one when you press a button, and for that kind of counting you can trust the result completely.

The converters apply published conversion factors. A metre is exactly 3.28084 feet and a kilogram is exactly 2.20462 pounds whoever does the sum, so those results are as accurate as the figure you typed in. The same holds for area, volume, speed, data storage, and the rest of the unit tools.

The estimating calculators are where judgement enters. BMI, mortgage payments, compound interest, calorie estimates, and due dates all rest on a model of the world that is true on average and wrong in individual cases. The arithmetic will be right. Whether the arithmetic answers your question is a different matter, and that is what the sections below are about.

No Professional Advice

Our calculators (including BMI, mortgage, loan, compound interest, GPA, and other financial or health tools) do not constitute medical, financial, legal, tax, or professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on calculation results.

No relationship of any professional kind is created by your use of this site. We do not know your circumstances, we do not see what you type, and nothing here has been reviewed for your particular situation. A number on a screen cannot weigh up the things a doctor, accountant, or adviser would ask you about before answering.

Health & Fitness Tools

BMI, exercise rep counters, calorie estimates, and similar health-related tools are screening aids only. They do not diagnose any condition. Consult a licensed healthcare provider before starting any diet or exercise program.

BMI deserves a specific warning because it is so widely misread. It compares weight to height and nothing else, so it cannot distinguish muscle from fat. A trained athlete frequently registers as overweight, an older person who has lost muscle may register as healthy while carrying too much fat, and the standard thresholds were derived from adult populations of European descent and fit other groups less well. It is a rough population-level screen, not a verdict on your body.

Pregnancy and cycle tools work from calendar averages. A due date calculated from a last period assumes a regular cycle and ovulation on a typical day, and a scan will give a better estimate than any arithmetic can. Calorie and macro figures come from equations that estimate an average person's metabolism and can be out by several hundred calories a day for an individual. Use them as a starting point to adjust from, not as a target to obey.

If you have symptoms that worry you, or a diagnosed condition, or you are pregnant, speak to a clinician rather than to a calculator. Nothing on this site is a substitute for examination and testing, and no result here should delay you seeking care.

Financial Tools

Mortgage, loan, investment, and tax-related calculators provide estimates based on the inputs you provide and standard formulas. Real-world results may differ due to fees, rounding, taxes, regional regulations, and lender policies. Consult a qualified financial advisor for personalized guidance.

The gaps are usually predictable. A mortgage calculator shows principal and interest, while your actual payment may also carry property tax, insurance, and mortgage insurance. Lenders add arrangement and valuation fees that never appear in a simple payment formula, and they round and compound on their own schedules, so a few pounds or dollars of difference each month is normal.

Investment projections are the most easily misused. Entering a steady annual return produces a smooth curve that no real market has ever followed; actual returns arrive unevenly, and the order in which good and bad years fall changes the outcome considerably. Inflation quietly reduces what the final figure will buy, and tax treatment varies by country and by account type. Past performance is not a guide to future results, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.

Tax and currency figures go out of date. Rates, allowances, and thresholds change, sometimes mid-year, and exchange rates move constantly. Treat any tax or currency result as indicative and confirm it against an official source before you rely on it.

Accuracy, Rounding, and Known Limits

Calculations run in your browser using standard floating-point arithmetic, the same arithmetic every spreadsheet uses. It carries a tiny inherent imprecision, so a result that should be exactly 0.3 may be stored as a value a fraction away from it, and displayed values are rounded for readability. This is harmless for ordinary use and worth knowing if you are chaining results together or working to many decimal places.

Results are also only as good as the inputs. A figure entered in the wrong unit, a decimal point in the wrong place, or a field left at its default will produce a confident and entirely wrong answer. If a result looks surprising, check the inputs before believing it, and sanity check anything important against a second source.

Your Data and Saved Counts

Counts and settings are stored by your own browser, not on our servers. We therefore cannot guarantee that any count will still be there later, and we cannot recover one that has been lost. Clearing browsing data, using a private window, browser storage limits, or simply switching device will all end a count. If a total matters, write it down or export it. This is not a backup service, and it should not be the only record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Content and Editorial Approach

The guides on this site are written to explain how a tool works and how the underlying units or formulas behave, and we correct them when we learn they are wrong. They are general reference material rather than professional publications, they are not peer reviewed, and standards, rates, and best practice move on after a page is written. If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page so we can fix it.
