These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SimpleCounter.co (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
There is no account to create and nothing to pay, so the agreement is a short one. In plain terms: use the tools as much as you like, do not attack the site or pass our content off as your own, understand that the results are estimates rather than advice, and accept that your counts are saved by your browser and not by us. The sections below set that out formally.
1. Use of the Service
SimpleCounter.co provides free online counters, calculators, converters, and educational content. You may use the Service for personal and commercial purposes provided you comply with these Terms and applicable law.
Commercial use is genuinely permitted and needs no licence from us. Counting stock in a warehouse, tracking reps with a client, running a classroom timer, or checking a conversion in the middle of a paid job are all ordinary uses of the Service. What is not permitted is rebuilding the Service as your own product, which is covered under intellectual property below.
2. No Account, and Where Your Data Lives
The Service does not require registration, and we do not create an account for you. Your counters, their values, your theme, your language, and your sound and vibration settings are stored by your own browser on your own device. They are not transmitted to us and we hold no copy of them.
Two consequences follow, and you accept both by using the Service. First, we cannot recover your data, because we never had it; if your browser clears its storage, the counts are gone. Second, your data does not follow you between browsers or devices, so a count started on a phone will not appear on a computer. If a total matters, export or record it yourself.
3. Acceptable Use
- Do not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or scrape the Service at scale.
- Do not introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code.
- Do not infringe on intellectual property rights.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its hosting, or any system or network connected to it.
- Do not use automated means to place load on the Service beyond normal human use, or to generate advert impressions or clicks.
- Do not remove, obscure, or interfere with advertising, attribution, or legal notices when embedding or displaying our pages.
- Do not present the Service, or results from it, as professional medical, financial, legal, or tax advice to anyone else.
4. Embedding Our Counters
Some counters can be embedded in another page. You may do so on sites you control, including commercial ones, provided the embed is unmodified, our branding and notices remain intact, and the surrounding page does not imply we endorse or are affiliated with it. Embeds are offered as they are, with no uptime commitment, and we may change or withdraw the embed feature. See the embed page for what is currently supported.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, logos, and trademarks on SimpleCounter.co are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our content without permission, except for personal use and short quotations with attribution.
Two clarifications, because the line matters. Facts are not ours: a conversion factor, a formula, or a published standard belongs to nobody, and you are free to use any figure you learn here. Our wording, layout, and code are ours, and republishing a guide, translating it, or using it to train a system that reproduces it are not covered by the personal-use exception. If you want to quote more than a short passage, ask through the contact page; we usually say yes when the source is credited and linked.
6. Feedback and Suggestions
If you send us an idea, a feature request, or a bug report, you allow us to use it to improve the Service without obligation, payment, or confidentiality. We may build something you suggested, and we may already have been building it. Please do not send us anything you regard as confidential or commercially secret.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculation results are accurate for every situation. See our Disclaimer for details.
In particular we do not warrant that any tool fits a purpose you have in mind, that saved data will persist, that the Service will work on every browser or device, or that content remains current after publication. Health and financial calculators produce estimates from standard models and should be treated accordingly.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SimpleCounter.co and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
This covers lost counts or settings, decisions taken on the basis of a calculated result, lost profits or business, and any consequence of the Service being unavailable. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, and where local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights still apply.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your presentation of results from the Service to third parties as professional advice.
10. Third-Party Links and Ads
The Service may contain links to third-party websites and display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other partners. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties.
Advertising is what keeps the Service free with no account and no paywall. We do not choose individual adverts and their appearance is not an endorsement; any dealings with an advertiser are between you and them. Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies involved and how to limit them.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what is and is not collected and forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you accept both documents.
12. Modifications
We may update or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also revise these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Tools are occasionally retired when almost nobody uses them or when keeping them accurate is no longer practical. Where a change to these Terms materially affects your rights we will update the "Last updated" date above, and we encourage you to re-read the page from time to time.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for users who violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time, and clearing your browser's data for this site removes everything it has saved.
14. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. Together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, these Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to where the Service operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
16. Contact
For questions about these Terms, please use our Contact page. You may also find an answer in the FAQ or on the about page.
